Short Biography of Rev. Dr. Fred Opoku Gyimah                                                                                                                                                                            

Born in Ghana, a town called Mpraeso on February 23, 1949 to Emmanuel Opoku-Gyimah and Afua Amanuah, Rev. Dr. Fred Opoku-Gyimah is the 4th of 8 children to his father and the first of 11 children to his mother. He had his Junior High School education at Mpraeso Presbyterian Middle Shool, and attended Universal Secondary School (Somanya) for Senior High School education. On completion he worded as a teacher at City Secondary School in Accra for two and a half years, after which proceeded to work at the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation. After seven years in GBC accounts department, he was promoted to the rank of Assistant Accountant. Two years later he was promoted to the rank of Accountant and remained in that position for six years, after which he resigned to respond to the call of God to full-time ministry.

 

In 1990, Dr. Opoku-Gyimah left his wife Magaret Opoku Gyimah and 3 children in Ghana and migrated to the United States. He attended Jacksonville Theological Institute & Seminary where he got his Master's Degree in Theology and Doctorate in Theology
